Cowboy Mounted Shooting Assoc

The Northwest Indiana Roughnecks cowboy mounted shooting club was formed in 2009.   Our goal is to enable people of all ages to come together to experience the fun and camaraderie of CMSA clubs and competitions.  We especially enjoy helping people who are new to mounted shooting.  CMSA is a sport that is very family oriented, and can be enjoyed at many levels.  Although it is a competitive sport, there are many people who simply love to ride and shoot without worrying about competing.  Our practices are set up to enable those who want to compete at high levels to perform different courses to hone their and their horse's skills and abilities.  But at the same time those who are not as competitive have ample time to ride courses and shoot without the pressure of a competition.   The La Porte County Fair commission has been very happy to have us, and encourages horsemanship activities of all types for their community.  We have two highly accomplished trainers that can train your horse or give lessons on your or their horses to help you accomplish YOUR goals for cowboy mounted shooting, at whatever level you wish.

Don't let the type of horse you own stop you from participating!  Our members have brought many different breeds of horses to shoot off of - Quarter Horses, Arabians, Missouri Foxtrotters, Grade, Tennessee Walking Horses, and more.  The size or breed of the horse is not important in CMSA.  It's only important that we stay safe and have fun.
